Scarabee Travel is a licensed Egyptian travel house, born in Dahab on the Red Sea. Unlike the many websites that resell Egypt from abroad, we hold the licences and own the assets — our own hotel and our own CDWS-registered dive centre — and we run trips across the whole country ourselves.
That means when you book with us, your money buys the trip, not layer upon layer of middlemen. And when something needs sorting on the ground, it's one team — ours — that sorts it.
What we are
- A Category-A Egyptian travel agency — Ministry of Tourism licence no. 284 — legally able to operate inbound and outbound tourism, transport and pilgrimage across Egypt.
- A hotel owner — our own property and house reef in Dahab, South Sinai.
- A dive centre operator — CDWS-registered, running the Red Sea's reefs, wrecks and technical sites.
- A full destination management company — the Red Sea, the Sinai desert, the Nile and classical Egypt, and pilgrimage, sold direct.
How we work
Online-first and multilingual — English, German, Arabic and Italian — with real people in Egypt who answer quickly and plan properly. We book at source, at operator prices, and we're happy to work either directly with travellers or as a reliable DMC behind agencies and dive clubs.
Where we go
Diving and freediving across the Red Sea and Sinai; desert safaris from the Coloured Canyon to the White Desert and Siwa; classical Egypt and Nile cruises from Cairo to Luxor and Aswan; and pilgrimage, both the Christian holy sites of Egypt and licensed Umrah and Hajj programs.
